yes, mine's in HongKong. I took digi-picture of a print copy, thus showing not too clear.
Actually, I have not studied much to tell the difference of W114 & W115, do u know CKBENZ?

Mine's GAS, not diesel. Dual-carb. straight-6!

not really but definitely sure that the w114 are code for six cylinder model like 230.6 and 280; while w115 is for 4 cylinder engine like 200, 220, 230.4, 200d, 220d, 240d!
i am not sure about the 300d 5 cylinder engine though, it might be 114 or 115.

hmm

1983 240D

330,000 miles.

Engine replaced by previous owner due to never changing the oil frequently at 300,000 miles.

The body was vey rusty, but that has been fixed with fiberglass, and surprisingly its holding up very well.

Looks good with that mileage.

The 280 6cyl. SEL has 156k miles logged, with no signs of wear on engine.... my diesels have 118k and 286k each..... the high mileage one has been reduced to parts-car status, from me canibalizing parts.

Over the years, I've mostly purchased cars at/below 100,000 mile range and then driven em upwards at/above 200,000 miles...... with largest maintenance item being valves and valve guide replacement.

Its always the body that rusts to smitherines in New England - have never had an engine entirely give up the ghost.

Only had one "lemon" where virtually all engine accesories: alternator, starter, carburetors, fuel pump, vacuum pump and A/C compressor died within first 6 months of ownership...... ironically this was lowest mileage MB I'd ever bought - '71 250/8 with only 54k miles in 1990.
