heat always on 1973/450sl
Can anyone direct me to the valves that will shut off the heat in the engine comparment. I don't want to spend the summer with the heat blasting if I can shut it off . Any pictures? Thanks

Offhand I would expect there to be a brass valve with three hoses connected to it mounted on the firewall on the drivers side but I'm not sure.

I just repaired my 72 sl with the same problem. Check on the firewall behind the air cleaner, there is a rubber diaphram assembly with a rod that connects to a heater hose going through the firewall. The rubber had dry rotted on the diaphrams. For a temporary fix you can close the valve by hand. I bought a new assembly from MB for $100, I bet Fastlane has it for less.

If the location is the same as the 108, the 2 (drivers and pass) are behind the glove box. Pull it out and you'll see them.
