a/c blower motor noise
Hello folks,
I made a seperate posting about the aftermarket installation a/c unit on my '67 250S, which includes a York a/c compressor. Here's another small problem with this system. The inside air circulating blower motor, which looks like a small squirrel cage setup, was mounted on the passenger side kick panel through and into the inner fender cavity. It was never sealed properly and water got into everything. The motor is really noisy, especially at high speed. I get a lot of wobble on the blower vanes, so I believe the bearings are going bad. Does anyone out there know where I can get a replacement motor or compete blower/motor unit. Or can these motors be repaired? Thanks for your help, Glenn

Hi
Spent many hours in a 250S -- I had my mothers car after she was done with it in the 70s when I was in high school - I still have it. I can tell you that the eary AC installs were not that great -- some of the fans did not have gaskets installed - the early units had the hole cut by the selling dealer. I would try to get one from a yard -- any 108 will fit -- the later ones were quiet. I actually took a harness and parts from a 6.3 and retrofited it to the 250 The parts all are made in the US |
