Climate Control Problem

I have 1979 450 slc. Servo unit was replaced 2 weeks ago, so finally I got ac now. Heating works fine too. Now, the problem that I have is my climate control keeps shuting off and on every minute. I can hear clicking somewhere from glove box, and than climate control either shut off or turn on. Usually it hapens when I am braking or if I accelerate. But a lot of times it hapens when I am just driving. Do you guys have any idea what this could be. Because of clicking noise I know its one of the switches. Any Idea???
Thanks a lot

Hmm. I'd check for a loose connector somewhere, sounds like you have intermittant power. However, I'm not familiar with this particular system, and it may be a relay clicking -- does the blower shut off, or does something else cut in and out?

It is reley clicking. Sounds like it. And when its click blower shuts off. I dont know if the reley is somehow conected to vakum because i got vakum leak in the door lock. Any idea how I can fix this???

Check for a loose or corroded fuse in the fusebox, I don't know which one it is. If you have old fuses, probably a good idea to replace all of them with ceramic, not plastic, fuses, they do get old and fail. They can give intermittant contact, causing things to go one and off like your climate control -- I had a low beam in my old Audi Fox that did that, drove me nuts, I replaced the bulb twice before replacing the fuse and cleaning the contacts.

Otherwise it almost has to be a loose wire in the dash somewhere making intermittant contact.

The blower shuts off on that system when the vacuum drops below a certin level. Find that swicth and by pass it for test purposes. You will not be able to by-pass it for a fix as it will cause the blower to run in low speed even when the system is shut off.
