1953 Benz.... very similar to Heckflosse 111's and 110's - comparable to Ponton???

Great pics on this link!!!

Here's 1953 sedan that bares suspicious resemblance to 111's and 110's from following decade..... its sorta the missing link between really old primitive cars and vintage MB's of just 30-40 yrs ago.

Identical seats and door panels; its even got kingpin / coil spring suspension. And the same column shift transmission. Speedometer looks interchangable with the 114/115 !!

External heater boxes draw air right outa the engine well, notso different from Ponton style - but probably more efficient than later pipeline duct heater systems. My guess is that somebody *****ed about catching engine fumes - hence the more elaborate Ponton system.

Hello,
That is exactly like my dad's car, steering wheel is on the *wrong* side, though
Pictures of the engine are like seeing an old friend.
Looks like a non original front bumper and the chassis central lubrication system lines have been disconnected and replaced with grease nipples, but with this modification the clutch release bearing and the centre of the kingpin will not be lubricated. The system's pump usually fails due to incorrect pumping by *operator*, correct way is to press down ONCE on pump button every 62 miles(100km).
Top speed is an alarming 63 mph and fuel consumption about 44mp/ig.
This example looks to be in very good shape, if I was in the US, I would have bought it already

That car has the wrong bumpers. The originals are difficult to find and expensive.I dont think they were offered in white either.
