Question fuel grade

Hello List,

What fuel grade should I use in my 1972 280se 4.5L here in Boston? In the manual it says that a octane rating of at least 91 should be used. I read in the star magazine that now the fuels are different. so what grade would you use?

thank you

cK

Fuel grades were different when lead was used, however, this car is designed for unleaded fuel as the manual states. Use at LEAST 92 octane! Any less will make it ping.

And use Chevron supreme w/ Techron (premium), wherever possible.

Don't know why, but ALL my last few Benzes have run better with Chevron. And no, I don't work for the company.
