MB doesn't give a gap figure really, but I think it is about 0.030 ". Set at that then check the dwell running and ajdust if needed.

I'm going to get a Pertronix electronic setup next time I need points and get rid of them altogether -- I'm having to clean mine several times a week from grease or oil contamination.

Big pain, causes serious surging cold.

Steering coupler is probably a big PITA depending upon access -- you will almost certianly need to unbolt the steering box and move it forward to get the coupler off.

Mark it in relation to the box and transfer the mark to the new one -- otherwise the steering wheel will likely be crooked and you will have to do the job again.

Actually, the coupler is not all that difficult to change. You need to remove the steering wheel and the bolts that hold the steering column in. Then undo the bolts on the coupling and slide the column up enough to allow the coupling to slide up and off the steering box.

Be sure to mark both sides as Peter noted to get it back together right.
