I don't know the car, but I'm curious to know why you are asking about it.

It almost looks like Stutz design with mid-cockpit seat compartment, aft cylindrical fuel tank and separate trunk over rear axle. Put your hand over front of the pic and from the mid section to rear of the car it looks identical to the famous 1911 Stutz Bearcat. Does the suspension have dual leaf springs paired in opposition to each other at each front wheel? ........that would be another Stutz design motiffe.
The hand lever outside the cockpit is actually the clutch that gets yanked back along toothed sprocket...... thats how it was explained to me long time ago at auto museum. And here's an excellent article that names German auto designers of the era...... Itsa 'who's who' that could help identify the car's designer if you want to search a little further. http://www.serve.com/shea/germusa/germauto.htm |

Looks like one of those French cars used in the Paris to Peking race at the turn of the century.

I found some pictures in a couple of German car books and many details look similar to several pre-WW! Mercedes and Benz cars. Except for the fenders, it looks very similar to a picture I have of a 1910 Benz Raceabout.
Any other opinions? Happy Motoring, Mark
