Exhaust Manifold Help (450 SEL)

I broke an exhaust manifold, rt. side on my 74 450 SEL. Went to the jkyd, found a 74 and pulled the rt. exhaust manifold.
Problem is that the header pipe end of my car's exhaust man. is
female The one I pulled is male. I should have known better with
Mercedes constantly changing parts. I'm not sure either car is original, but maybe what happened is when the manifolds changed from the weird 75 or 75-76 only integrated cataylitic converter this male-female thing happened. HELP?
Also, can you weld repair a broken exhaust manifold?

I don't really have much to offer since welding is beyond me. But the dealer can tell you lots about what is specific to your car just based on the VIN number. They can tell you when that part may have changed, even on the old stuff. It is remarkable their (MB, not the dealer) commitment to cars 30 years out of production.

good luck
