Madrel Bent Stainless Exhausts for older MBs
I got a Timevalve SS exhuast recently. I got it because is was
supposed to be soooo good. Well it isn't. It is NOT mandrel bent like the original. So I contacted Borla (and subsequently Borla East) and they do not make mandrel bent exhausts for our cars. They used to make them mandrel bent but not any more. It seems the machine costs too much. So now I am on a quest. Who makes mandrel bent SS exhausts?????? TIA, Walt... |

Making it out of Us and what not would look like crap. Plus there is only one 90 in the system. Then you stiilll need the muffler and resonator. Borla East told me thy could make a system out of bigger tubing and then the choked down places would not hurt so much. But, it still screws up the flow. About $500 US.
A place called DoubleS in BC Canada wrote me they can make mandrel bent system at US $860 + $55 to ship. I already paid Timevalve $500 for the system. They did not say they did not mandrel bend anymore. I am still miffed about that. Maybe I can put that system in my Ponton sedan. -W |
