You didn't say what year or model/engine your W110 is but here goes -

Do you have the extra pulley for the engine to drive the PS pump belt?

Will the pump bracket bolt up correctly to properly line up the pulleys?

Is the steering box or steering shaft length different for the power steering unit?

Early Fintails only came with one pulley to drive the generator/waterpump belt. You may need to add an additional pulley for the power steering belt.

The original power steering pump brackets on these cars bolted to threaded holes low down on the left front/driver's side of the engine block. I've seen one case where a replacement engine had been installed and the holes were there but weren't threaded, so check for this, unless you intend to custom fabricate your own pump mounting kit.

Depending on the engine, the original pump mounting uses additional bolts and spacers or a bracket that anchors it to the upper aluminum oil pan.

I got a used power steering box for my '60 Fintail but haven't tried to install it yet because my car requires a different length steering shaft for manual or power steering. Later Mercedes power steering boxes were made in different lengths and later Fintails may have a telescoping steering shaft design, like the W114/115 cars, so the steering box you got may bolt right in or you may be able to adjust the steering shaft length to fit.

Measure the distance between the mounting holes and where the shaft coupling is on your original steering box. Compare this measurement to your power steering box.
Depending on the steering box length or whether your steering shaft can be adjusted, you may need to replace the shaft or the whole steering column assembly with one from a power steering car.

Hope this helps.

Happy Motoring, Mark
