114 Coupe front glass /windshield question

Hi all. My '72 114 coupe's front glass is cracked. While I know that a 115 sedan front glass will not fit it (it stands more "upright" than the coupe front glass), my question is will a W114 sedan's glass fit my car? Thanks for whatever assistance or clarification you can share.

Thank you.

So that is yet another difference between the 114 and the 115 - the roofline? Or am I not reading this right?

So far as I can tell, the W115 and W114 sedans use the same roof and glass. The W114 Coupe windshield IS angled back and it doesn't look like (in my photos) that they simply tilted the sedan glass back farther. I don't see how either sedan windshield will fit a Coupe.

Happy Motoring, Mark

114 Coupe front glass /windshield question

Thank you all for your responses.

Charles, was it a straight swap from sedan to coupe, or did you have to "shave" some edge or corner prior? thanks

Chuck,
I think 114 and 115 sedans have the same roofline. The 114 coupe's roofline is different though compared to the sedan versions (coupe's sits a bit lower and is flat).

Mark,
That is what I also observed(not too closely though). Coupe windshield appears to be slightly slanted and the sedan windshield seems more upright. I just wasnt sure if its the frame or the glass that creates the impression since I havent done a side by side comparo.

The top of the glass (on a coupe) measures about 51 inches while the bottom is around 62 inches height is about 24 base to base. I dont know the measurement of the windshield of the 114/5 sedans.

Thanks.

-Mark

Hello,
All W114/115 four door cars have the same 115 xxx xxx part numbers for both front and rear screens.
The W114 two door cars do not share any glass with the four door bodies.
Relatively large numbers of the coupes were sold in the USA, you should be able to source a screen locally from the specialist installers, I had a '66 VW Karmann Ghia coupe done in Raleigh, NC. The screen had been sitting for a few years but was usable.
Hope that helps.
