400,000 on the diesel

Just passed that mark yesterday on the old 300D. I'm more convinced that 5 cylinder 115's are one of best cars to roll out of the Daimler plant.
I forgot my camera on the run so I'll have to wait another 100,000 to snap that OD.
What was really suprising and a neat coincidence was that someone directly in front of me in a new black E500 paid my bridge toll on the Golden Gate!

Thanks whoever that was.

Nice!

I just rolled over 200,000 on Tuesday on the way to work.

Nice to have a car that lives that long!

David:

At least on glow plug is drawing too much or too little current. Check the connectors and wires for corrosion or a rubbed through spot. I'd also check the GP themselves with a digital ohmmeter. The must have resistance between 0.6 and 0.8 ohm. Check the 80A strip fuse, too -- if it has a crack, you won't pull enough current, and that may cause the light to flash, too.

I hope you used Bosch or Beru plugs -- champions are useless.

Failing that, you may have a bad relay.

The plugs are Beru. Regarding a '79 SD, it depends on what your vin # is depending on whether or not I can get the Boschs. Of course my vin was the one that required the $17.00 Berus.
Thanks
David

Peter
