stick shift 108 selling for peanuts in PA
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=6329&item=2483587785&rd=1
This appears to be an unmolested original first yr. 1967 250S floor shift 4-spd. sedan. Buy-it-now price is $850!! Even throwing $3G into the car for sheetmetal and misc would make this a bargain luxury car and daily driver. Hell its even got Red interior/ Black exterior CLASSIC MB colors made famous by Pontons and Heckflossen sedans. Am stunned to see cars like this available. Mortgage/debt is the only thing holding me back. I swear to God this is the finest car for less than $1000 that I've ever seen. The engine?? Hell that's probably the last thing anybody needs to worry about. |

Did you see it appears to have the rare factory headrest option on the drivers seat?
Close enough to go see before the auction ends in 7 days. HMMMM. If only I had a big barn out in the country somewhere. Well, I just installed the Euro headlamps on my Fintail so maybe I can resist temptation awhile longer! Happy Motoring, Mark

C'mon guys. This one is a basket case. Look at the rot behind the front wheel, and the carpets that have dissolved from water leaks. And think about the carbs and their vacuum leaks. And not running? Who knows what brake, suspension and transmission problems lurk there.
It was probably donated because no one would buy it. I love these cars as much as anyone, but this particular example looks like a donor to me. All IMHO, of course.

If you want a 250S, you can get my friend's. It's beautify, it's rust free, and it's for sale.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2483509472 And it will cost you less than that 3,000$ worth of sheet metal. -CTH |

Like I said, it's close enough to go have a look before the auction ends. Besides, I have a nice, local, 4 speed 250S lined up that could use a donor. It already has the red interior to accept those rare headrests. But I'm sure Miss Daisy will help me retain my sanity. (But on the other hand, if only I had a large barn somwhere....)

Mark, you can have 1/2 gallon of 100 proof V.O.B. Kentucky Bourbon if the car is close enough for you to check out on Saturday or Sunday before the auction closes. And if the deal comes together, you can have the headrests too.
Never owned a 108 in my life but have no interest in automatics knowing standard shift is available. Its gonna sound pitiful but this cheapo 108 looks perfect for me. |

Unfortunately, since my last posting on this topic, a job has come up, so no Philly trips for me this weekend.
