1972 280 SE Value?
Hello, I'm considering a 72 280 SE. It has just under 100, 000 miles. Straight six with mechanical fuel injection. It as automatic transmission and an electric sunroof. Condition is not to bad... both front fenders need replacement and there is a bit of rust. Having said that I have a 67 250 S that I could rob some body parts from. It starts right up and sounds pretty smooth, it does smoke though. No blowby present and so I believe it is a matter of valve stem seals. I'm wondering what the general opinion is of these models and what sort of value would be considered fair. I can purchase it for about 500.00 USD. Thanks in advance for any information any one may have to offer.

I'd probably buy it for $500. I'd just check the undercarriage for rust first, and make sure the A/C works.
I like mine quite a bit. MPG could be better though. -Larry
