'64 finback with 4 spd FS in Ohio
Out of curiosity stopped at a frame shop today about fifteen miles from my abode where an old MB had a "for sale" sign on it. I don't really know these cars but I have had a '72 108 V8 since Dec. 03.
Car is very solid 4-door. LF fender is crap and there is primer overspray most everywhere but body appears solid. Chrome is some good, some bad. Owner reports "little old lady PO in FL" although I did not ask about current OH license plate. Blue int. in need of replacement carpet, wood and headliner. MB-Tex seemed OK. 6 cyl. lacking air cleaner, has the 2 zentihs in place, no obvious problems under the hood. My 13-yr old son noticed it was a 4-spd, I missed that  Odometer reads 83xxx, could be legit. Owner says "I'll let her go for a grand." I foresee $5000 making it right cosmetically. Of course, he says "it runs like a charm." Did not hear it run and did not think to grab the VIN or other #s. Anybody interested, I'd be happy to go by again and snap some photos and gather specific info or drive it if you wish. (Tires are suspicious though.) Lemme know. I have no interest in this vehicle, just a public service announcement  kpb

As you may be aware I am looking for a fintail. Could you get pictures particularly of the over-spray you mentioned and of the trouble-some parts cosmetically? If you can't/don't want to it's not a problem.

Sorry, today's schedule blew-up and, dammit, I had to actually WORK. Pisser. Will give a sincere effort to get by the vehicle tomorrow and post ASAP.

dammit
Have been trying the better part of tonight to either post pix or email them to interested parties. Virtually everytime I am in the midst of one or the other, my ISP kicks me off. I am on dail-up running about 50K
