i was thining maybe one of your fittings just isn't tight enough and that made it leak the fuel out but since now it starts when parked differently it probably is related to the drain back above... man, good luck...

Hi
When I was replacing my fuel pump, I checked the net for Pierburg pumps. It seems that they have new models designations to supercede the originals. It was to address what Nachi is saying about fuel draining back on a slope. Check with Pierburg your pump number. Oreo |

The story so far...
I tried clamping both the main fuel line and the return when the car was parked, but it only helped on some days...
Anyway, last Thursday I caught the car marking its territory on the parking lot, forcing yet another fast repair with rubber hose. I wont fiddle with this anymore until I've made new copper fuel lines. By now about 50% of the original lines has been replaced with hose... I'll be back with furher updates |

I hope this was the reason...
Well, now I've replaced the fuel lines, and it was about time. Grabbing the old steel lines was like crushing corn flakes in my hand. Now I have copper lines all the way, and hopefully this will solve the problem of losing fuel pressure. Here's one pic of the old fuel line, and one of the new installation:
