Red face 1979 300 wagon

Hello,

I looked at a 300 diesel wagon yesterday that was in good solid condition. I know very little about these cars and wonder what a fair price would be. There is little rust and everything works except the air conditioning.

I would like to purchase this car to teach my son to drive and then if he doesn't want it I would like to restore it or possibly resale it.

I would appreciate any opinions on these models in general .

Value depends on where you live and condition of the car. I wouldn't pay nearly as much for a rust bucket as I would for a California car. I also would pay far less for a beater with sagging load leveler, inop door locks, two windows not working, a leaking radiator, worn out seats, etc, than I would for a one owner that has always been garaged and everything functions.
