Who has the oldest MB on the forum?

Well, I tried this question on the diesel forum and was directed here so lets try again.

Details such as how long owned, mileage, etc. appreciated.

I believe it to be Old South (sp?). He has a 52(?) cabriolet I believe. I know it's an older '50's and it's cabriolet. It's beautiful.
Thanks
David

I just found this site. Pictures soon of my 38. The car got bounced out a car museum about 5 years ago. Looked good but a lot of the mechanicals failed from poor work over the years. I have rebuilt the engine and brakes and reconditioned the radiator, top mechanism, gas tank and rear end. Not to mention a few thousand other small items! Chuck

those 170s are sharp looking.

when shopping for a 240 some years back i ran across an early 50s 170 diesel in elkart indiana or near there. it was very sharp looking.... a little like a 34 ford with a mb grill. it had a 4 cyl diesel and swing axles under the back. i can picture myself toodling around in one of those...possibly with a 617 turbo installed. with air of course.

suicide doors i think.

Here's a pic of an old Benz I WISH was mine. It's a '41 340.

Or how about a pic of the 6.3 engine of a 600 I wish were mine?

Now, please don't tell me that I can wish in one hand and crap in the other one and see which hand gets filled up first. I tried that, and it wasn't pretty!

Hey I recognize this picture.......
It's the famous Haunted Benz kicking around Poland thats been repeatedly listed for sale with no takers at rock bottom price of about $150,000 USD. Said to be completely original with no decay of leather, sheet metal, etc - sort of a "Dorian Gray" of automobiles, rumored to have really bad kharma and nobody wants to get near it. MB refuses to publicly release the original ownership info too.

Roadster version [ 198.042] did not appear until 1957.
