Maybe there aint nothin wrong with that Jersey car that a little elbow grease couldnt fix!!
I call this easy entry into Finbody ownership..... The sort of car that can be bought for a song and made roadworthy with little trouble. And then driven for many, many trouble-free miles. Some might say it's best to spend money up front for the best possible and cleanest Benz you can find. But I've had great success myself pulling them out of hibernation and recovering them from abandonment, making daily drivers that last for several years out of moth-balled 'field' cars. David, New Jersey to Indianna is major trucking lane.... You could probably have this jallopy shipped for peanuts on car-hauler that has an empty slot on the return trip after making a run to Jersey. And if you can put it in your driveway for $500 (sight unseen) what have you got to lose?? Y'all can call me crazy, but this uncommon 220b strikes me as the best finbody deal this forum has seen in a very long time. Last edited by 300SDog; 12-10-2004 at 01:21 PM. |

$500 plus my time. Dieseldog, I want a car that at least looks pretty nice. I can make the mechanicals work to my advantage.
Thanks David

Two schools of thought on auto restoration:
1) Scrounge up whatever Benz you want at cheapest cost and get it mechanically perfect first. Then deal with the cosmetics down the road. 2) Sink all your money into a cosmetically perfect vehicle. Then deal with the same mechanical issues as above. Except now the necessary mechanical stuff will be more painful, knowing you have already put thousands of dollars into buying the car. |

240 - don't encourage David on this one!! - he'll be 40 years old by the time he gets finished and $10K poorer.
240 - you should get it and sell me some parts - you could double your money (LOL) -
