Question Wipers on 114 coupe

Hi all.

The wipers on my '72 280CE stopped working. I was fortunate enough to have a local Benz workshop (MB Spares - Canberra, Australia) let me trial and error some second hand parts. It turned out that the relay on the wiper motor was stuffed. I put in a 2nd hand motor and all was well except the intermittent wiper function would not work. Tried different motor with existing switch, new motor with two different switches - still no intermittent.

Any clues please.

Regards,

Mark

The switches are not the same by year and the ones that you tried may be incompatible with the relay you now have. If you have a wiring diagram, see if you can get all speeds to work by jumpering to at least validate the relay and motor.

wipers

Thanks for reply. the wiper switches I tried were all off 114's. I will try what you have suggested - I just have to get hold of a wiring diagram.

They differ by model year, so all 114 switches are not the same. FI a '73 won't work in a '72 IME.

If you send me an email I will try to send you the wiring diagram for a '72 off the CD.
