automatic, won't start, used to start by moving shifter around , but no more, my question is..how does one test the safty neutral switch...I have removed leakage and shifts or shifted into park but still won't start but would like to test switch before removing in case it is the ignition and not the safty switch. Any advise.

If I remember correctly, there is a large 4-pronged plug on the driver's side of the transmission. Two of the wires are for start and two are for the backup lights. I think the purple ones are for start.
Anyway, pull the connector off and jump the purple wires and try to start. If it cranks, you've found the problem. It is also common for the electrical part of the ignition switch to fail.

thankyou
thanks for the advise, I hope to try that today. Gives me an idea and that is what I needed. Not a mechanic or anything but am learning or willing to try anything once. Thanks again.
