Parts houses
I know this question is a bit insensitive seeing as how one of the major sponsors of this forum is Fastlane but...
Does anyone have any info (good and bad) on the major parts houses, Germanstar, Adsit, Fastlane, GPR, or All Imported? Depending upon what part I am looking at the prices seem to vary quite a bit. I figure I'll just buy the OEM part I need from the lowest price company which has it in stock. I have used GPR already and they seem to be quite good. Thanks Paul X '73 280 SEL 4.5

I've had pretty good success with a different outfit in Boise, ID called
IPS-Parts.com They use the pretty-standard "WorldPac" catalog (most of these houses do) so it's easy to find the part you want. Shipping is free if you buy $75.00 worth of stuff, and ship incredibly fast. Their prices seem to be the lowest that I've found, especially when you factor in the shipping. I live in Portland, OR and most of the time I've had my parts within 3 days of ordering. You might do what I did: pick a group of 5 common parts (say, brake parts, carb parts, tune up parts) and actually go to each of the sites and price them out. Be sure to include shipping. I did and I found about a 50% spread from highest to lowest. Catrinus 73 280C |

I have been happy with Fastlane, ***************, and German Star. Adsit is good for rebuilt stuff and gave me a killer deal on a 114 hood.
Don't overlook shipping. These guys have on and off deals on free shipping. Don't be shy, about shopping, either. There are really large price difference especially on Bosch and Bilstein parts. Supposedly, Phil at Fastlane will match any internet price. For climate control stuff, I recommend George Murphy.
