Fuel pressure gage.
I have a 76 450sel and want to buy a fuel pressure gage. Any ideas on one to buy (reasonably priced) which would handle the pressures that develope in my CIS system. Also any thoughts on making a permanent installation of the gage on the engine somewhere? MIlt.

Some things to consider -
Commonly availble DIY fuel pressure gauges may or may not come with adaptors to fit your car. You might need to make up your own from fuel lines scavenged from a salvage-yard. If not from a 450SE, perhaps from a later model or some other Euro FI import - Volvo, VW, BMW etc... The gauges I've seen availible for DIY testing of FI pressures aren't built for permanent installation. A malfunction could could cause a fuel leak. Perhaps a guage made for competition installation from a racing supplier may be your best bet there. Happy Motoring, Mark

Mark: Good point. I would not have thought of the junk yard. I have seen a gage somewhere which installed inside the drivers compartment however this was too expensive for my purposes. Thanks, Milt.

For safety reasons, I'd forget about a permanent pressure guage installation, unless you're willing to go for the 'expensive' system.
