O.K. I'm Going to do all the Valve Stem Seals

(With the heads on the car)
1. Where is the best place to buy the seals?
2. I'd prefer to use rope in the cylinders rather than
compressed air- any one done this?
3. Mancini Racing (who suppplies mostly Chrysler racers)
has a valve spring compressor that clamps tho the head
and is supposedly easy to use. Any one used one like this?

Any other suggestions?

Forget #3. Went to the Mancini web page- their valve spring
compressor only seems to be good for Mopar engines.

I've never used anything except the compressor type that hooks under the cam.

If you get the cylinder up on TDC, you may not need air or rope - the valve presses against the piston and you can push the retainer down far enough to get the collets out.

You can get the seals just about anywhere. I have used the dealer for them because the cost difference won't cover the shipping if you get them online.

You'll need some sort of magnetic finger to lift out the keepers. It is a pain to compress the valve and try to dig the keepers out. Someone to help would be great. I don't remember where I got mine, maybe Samstagsales.com or any auto parts store.

Samstag incidentally means Saturday.
