Rear door wont open!
My rear door refuses to open any longer. Its the rear passenger side door that is locked shut. The lock will not raise nor will it lower, and the door feels glued shut.
More bad news. Some punk ass broke my hood ornament from my car and now I have to buy a new one. Are the removable ones worth the extra premium? This really ruined my day because Ive put alot of money in my car. |

Forgot to mention I have a spare hood ornament assembly from a parts car. Would it be possible to transfer parts to reassemble my star back on? The little punks left the star on my hood after they broke it off.

Might be easier to just pull the clip and install the whole star&cap assembly. I occasionally pull the clip and lock my assembly in the car when I park in risky neighborhoods! I'm not aware of any 'pop-off' stars for the older cars.
Had a front door latch that used to stick OPEN. The grease had dried up and gummed up the mechanism. Freeing up with penetrating oil, then lubing with ATF fixed mine. Maybe, if you remove the little U-shaped chrome latch trim, you can get some penetrating oil inside. Happy Motoring, Mark

Yes, I have pneumatic lock issues too. Started too look into it and noticed that on the driver's door there is a hole near the latch mechanism for access to an adjustment mechanism (allen wrench). I'm looking more into that before I remove my door panel.
I occassionally have stuck doors, on my 72 SE 4.5. Just a little bit of water that creeps in near the door latches can create rust where a large conical pin on the door inserts to a long conical hole on the body. Once you get the door unlocked, you may have to battle this. Usually a good whack from the inside of the car (yanking from the outside doesn't give you enough force) will free it. Grease and oil work for me to keep it freely moving. My weather stripping is cracking on some of the sharper corners of the door and is mostly like dry cardboard in other areas causing the water to get in. Yes, another project is on the horizon.
