Restoration is a relative thing.... Some like em to be sanitized, looking completely brand new. Others are not upset by cracked leather and appreciate the patina of original condition.

With 4-spd floor shift, I'd say that's a desirable car even with played kingpins, tie-rods, soft bushings and springs.

Yet I was amazed to realize my '77 280SEL 4-spd was tough to sell, because nobody knew how to drive it.

A 108.018 isn't a coupe, it's a sedan. If it doesn't have holes in the floors or rockers, it's a restoration candidate. Less than that, and it might well be just another parts car. -CTH

The only value will be your satisfaction. Not many want 'em and there are plenty of restored and good original examples around.

i made a mistake, the 2dr was a 63 300se, 4sp. # 11202110004234. after checking further it had plenty of rust underneath, and the wheels were tucked completely under the car, making it hard to move.

the other number i gave was a 68 sedan with an auto, been on the road within the last 2 years, very little rust, body was pretty straight.

both these cars were sold today, the 63 brought 1k and the 68 brought 850.

at this same sale was a 58 190 sedan, running condition, standard trans, little rust, all hub caps and the spare was their, 2800.

thanks for the help,, mark

1k for a dead 300se coupe is about right. If the interior is in salvagable shape, then it was a bargan to somebody who'll part it out. -CTH
