what **EXACTLY** is diff. between US and Euro 3.5 cars
Hi everyone!
I have a euro 3.5 sedan and a US 3.5 coupe (108 and 111 280se). What EXACTLY is the difference? What prevents me from making the US as 'performant' as the euro? Thanks. |

more aggressive cams, I think the distributor advance is different. The EFI brainbox is different. Pick up the 1971 Technical data book from mercedes and all will be revealed. -CTH

Many times this forum has discussed the idea of putting 3.5 cams in a 4.5 to improve performance, if I were convienced that it would make a 20 or so more horsepower in my car without damage I would do it. I was pleased to discover on this forum through Tomguy that the vacume advance can be adjusted for greater power, I am looking forward to the details. I own a 4.5 and I have slightly suggested before that this board should promote a project car for upgrades to which we would all have access. I'm good for $100.
