What is behind the plastic? W123 77?
Car:1977 280E
Interior blue I have already removed the decorative plastic strips that covered the door windows and revealed beautiful paint. It looks much cleaner. It looks like the same stuff covering the inside rear roof support. one side is wrinkled and coming off. It looks like there is a nice black plastic stippled surface underneath. Did they just cover the colored interior and leave the black version without it? It would look much cleaner if this were true, because the ceiling is in perfect shape. Does anybody know what is behind this plastic? cheers

I peeled the covering off my '79 parts car and I agree with your findings, my black plastic panels under the vinyl were brittle and broke when I tried to remove them...
