Necessary parts for power steering reseal
I'm ready to reseal my power steering pump. I've seen some different info about it on this forum, and wanted to verify all the parts that I need before I dig in.
joshhol, in this thread, listed a couple MBZ part numbers. Is that all I need? How much does that cost? Now what about the Febi "P/S Pump repair kit" that is listed here on Fastlane and others? It has two O-rings and a seal. There's also a "P/S reservoir gasket" listed -- should I get one of those as well? Thanks for the help! |

The P/S resevoir gasket goes on the underside of the lid of the res. Just pull the old one out and press the new one in.
What you need is the Febi P/S pump repair kit. The pressure relief port seal has to be checked very carefully to make sure it is exactly the right one. The current kit has one that is almost correct, but according to my mechanic it will leak almost right away. Those part numbers should cover it if you have the same pump as me. This was for the 115. I'm sure the dealer could advise you on the correct kit. good luck.
