Why can't I find a Fender?

Anybody have any leads...

I'm looking for a passenger side finder for a 1963 220s (111)

I know a year ago it wasn't this difficult to find a local boneyard or a parts car someone was stripping.

Oh, I'm in Southern California.

Thank you, Thank you very much...

A red fintail was sitting in Sun Valley junkyard for over two month. The last time I saw it couple weeks ago. It might be still there.

That's achilles heal on the 111, rustin out behind headlights, so decent used part will be scarce as hen's teeth.

What's the price on new sheetmetal? Let me guess, you got shafted by insurance company when lady in van clobbered your 220SEb daily driver.

Well she's a s with an seb engine and insurance $$$ wasn't bad considering, ($5,000). The real bummer is they totaled the car which gives her a salvage title Fun to drive but not worth a pot.

After the accident I had to replace the upper and lower A-Arms which I got from Tri-Star Pete (didn't he sell his yard?). I remember I got a quote on the fender but i think, at the time, it wasn't worth the shipping. I'll try again.

Sun Valley said he had one with a small whole (reasonably patchable) that he would sell for $150., $25. off his normal price. It was sold or gone when I went to get it.

She's still a daily driver but now I have till the end of June to get her up to code. Vehicle brake and light inspection for salvage title registration.
no fender = no headlights

I ment Pick Your Part (foreighn cars) on Telfair Ave., not MBZ dismantlers on Tuxford St. They are half a mile away from each other.

Found one!!!!!!!!!!
It's in good shape and not too much rust on the inside.

Plan for this week -
1) Wirebrush and coat the inside
2) remove runner molding and patch rivit holes
3) hang fender
4) sand and primer
5) install headlight

oh, did i mention I also found a Euro light replacement.

Notice the name, Tri-Star Parts.
I remember Pete sold just after I bought some parts from him (9 or so motnths ago). He said, "you better get it now cuz I'm sending all those oldies to the crusher". So sad.
They're still good guys out there but they don't have as much vintage inventory.
