72 280 sel fuel relay wiring question

when i took the relay out of its socket all the wires promptly fell out of their holes. can anyone tell me which wire goes where? im assuming that the red that goes from the positive on the battery goes in position 1, but really i have no idea. okay bye

not exactly. Being a Friday, few things happened yesterday. You're talking about the 280se with a straight-6 and not the 4.5, right?

I don't have the benz service manual handy, but you'll find the lacing diagrams in back with the schematics precisely what you're looking for. -CTH

That's what I thought. The straight 6 & v8 versions of the 280se have completely different fuel injection systems.

I'll be in the garage a bit later today. I'll look it up for you. In the mean time, visit ebay and look for the service manuals. There's another active post in this forum on the subject. It should be easy to find. -CTH
