aussie m110 w116
Hello I have just been checking fluid levels on my car and while it was running I put my hand over the exhaust. This then provided my with little splattering
ammounts of oil on to my hand. What iam I heading for. Thanks in advance for sugestions answers. Andrew |

And this was at stone cold engine start? Try it again with the engine warmed up.
Valve seals leaking oil into exhaust ports is what i'm thinkin. Not fatal and can be repaired with cylinder head attached to the engine. Difficult job though with hazards of losing valve stem keepers, dropping valves into the combustion chamber and improperly seating the seals or destroying em in the process. Very intense car nuts down under in Australia, i understand. We've got a gang of em here in the Vintage Forum including a girl at Tasmania with 108 and a couple of New Zealanders with 111 coupes. |
