It's time to see her go

Well, it's official. I'll be moving from sunny Southern California to the inclement east coast (DC Metro) and will not be taking my 62' (previously thought to be 63') 220s/sb/seb/, daily driver. She's a little bit of everything. So if anyone knows of somebody that is interested...

- 1962 220sb (111) with s chrome and 1963 seb fuel injected M127 engine (rebuilt and super strong)
- Euro headlights
- Stock sliding sunroof
- Good looking 280 seats (no tears)
- Starts right up and runs daily
- Automatic Tranny

I was in an fender bender about a year ago which needs some attending to.
- Rear umber straightened or replaced
- Front right fender removed and realigned
- Paint
- Registration with brake and light inspection. I changed the front shoes this weekend but because I am out of time will not be able to do the back and get it to inspection. For this reason I will not be asking much for the vehicle but overall would like to see her go to a good home or be used for parts in another project, and I would hate to see her go to a yard.

I will post pictures later

Look forward to the pics. I assume you'll post the price with them?

- Peter.

That's too bad, there are several of us in the DC Metro area that would like to see or even buy the car.

BTW, we get lots of sun here. It's hot and humid in the summer and A/C is needed. The winters are usually mild.

I'll be moving to DC on a whim, to be with my girlfriend who was accepted into Georgetown Law. So, even though I found a great company in Alexandria we'll still be on somewhat of a college budget which doesn't allow for a driveway or a shade tree. So sad.

Wbain, "the winters are usually mild." Are you sure about this? I see weird white stuff falling from the sky every time I turn on the Skins game. What is that stuff?!?!?!

Here are pictures I posted after the accident.

These pictures do not reflect the upper and lower A-Arms or fender I replaced.
I also have a working Euro ready to be installed.

I would be happy getting $1200. She is a salvage title and needs some work and I only have till Sunday to sell her. Still a great deal just in parts.

I also have an extra windshield and a few plastic crates of 60's Mercedes parts - nuts, bolts, and other doo-dads. And a set of Solex carbs. I will do my best to assist with shipping or let me know if anyone lives local (SF Valley) and wants to swing by.

Give my regards to M Street, Clydes and all the rest. And tell those jokers on Capitol Hill to decriminalize biodiesel so the dieseldog doesnt have to illegally hack into home heating oil gas lines for cheaper fuel than what's at the pumps....... whew, am glad to know somebody's got girlfriend lawyer here to bail me out if i ever get caught.

$1200 is outrageous bargain for California Custom SEb with factory sliding roof..... What the hell is your next Benz gonna be? Bad news is DC area is new-car kinda town where nobody wants neighbors working with jallopies in the street.

Nevermind there's at least 1/2 dozen forum members will set you up with something decent at/within 180 miles of DC Metro. Good luck with the relocation and best regards to your high-powered legal eagle sweetheart.

And if it was me, I'd mothball the SEb with parents instead of dumping it for free. Just pour some 80wgt oil in the spark plug holes and run the FI pump dry of fuel - you know the drill.

I must be crazy, but I would be interested in buying it. Getting the car here would be the next order of business. Please send me some pics.

Wow, I really hope it finds a home. The scrap yard is no place for that car. Please, at least find someplace for it to hang out until it sells.
Wish I could help.
