1962 222 Sb Steering Wheel Removal
I know this may sound stupid, but I can't get the steering wheel off no matter how much work I do on it. There is a single nut (I think a 22 mm or so) with a lock washer underneath. I have doused the thing with spray-on lubricant to get it off, but after an hour of toiling with it last night, no go. Any tips??? The manual I have just talks about removing it, nothing more special than that.
Thanks, Rory |

Thats it. Just take the nut and lock washer off, then remove the steering wheel. Now wasn't that easy
I haven't encounter one that sticks, but sometimes they require a steering wheel puller. That I have no idea on. Mine usually slip off by vigerously jerking it back and forth at about 3 and 9 o'clock. Maybe someone else has a better idea Leonard |

Well - I will have another crack at it tonight - my wife is out for the weekend, so that will give me some time with 'rommel'! I have a new set of metric wrenches that I can try on it, so you never know - success may be around the corner - or a busted bolt on the column...
