Well I recently found this site when I was searching the web for MB-parts. I really wish I had found it sooner, I could have used some advice during my two years of renovation.
This car is a ´75 240D 3.0
It's got a factory manual transmisson and originally had a red/brownish interior.
When I bought the car it had a fair amount of rust but the engine and tranny felt really nice, no brakes but then who needs 'em
The rust was adressed by a friend of my father who owns a local body-shop.
My father and I tried to tackle the brakes ourselves but soon noticed that the rust lured there too. The car was taken apart and got a new coat of paint last winter. It spent a couple of months at a local mechanic and now has excellent brakes. During the spring I worked on getting it back together and finally there seems to be an ending in sight.
