AC leaking
My '72 250 is leaking water/condensation from the AC right at the cooling fans. You can see water inside the fans and it's leaking at a crack in the case and dripping down to the floorboard and in the console tray right below the ash tray. Is this fixable or am I stuck with just replacing this case? I have never seen this part available anywhere, so I'm not sure how to proceed. Thanks.
Ryan

There shouldn't be water in the blower housing unless the evaporator drains are plugged and water is building up there first and is then leaking into the blower housing. Check the evaporator drains first. there should be two hoses from the bottom of a box, forward/below the AC blower. These hoses should go through holes in the tranny tunnel. If the drains are working and the crack you described IS actually in the evaporator box, you may have to find a way to seal it, maybe with some silicone glue.
Happy Motoring, Mark

Thanks Mark,
I pulled the console today and unplugged the drains - they didn't seem clogged and initially it didn't help as I still didn't have any condensation draining down the hose. So I went back in and unplugged "up" - using compressed air - into the 'box' and that did the trick. I now have condensation draining down the drains and no water in the blower housing. Thanks again, ryan
