A V-12 6.9.....Highly Doubtful

Here's another Ebay farce.

"Engine has 40,000 miles on it cause I replaced it from a V12 to a V8."

"V-12 6.9"

Anybody notice the mileage was 1,694,000.

Guess those old V-8's crap out at the 1,650,000 mark.

LOL, i guess MB kept the V12 under wraps for the next 20 years before releasing it into production again in the 6OOS that we know today.

Has anyone asked the seller to provide pics of this supposed V12, or better yet, ask who makes it, since it's obviously not an MB V12 if it's as old as the car itself

Why hasn't he revised it then? He might be able to fetch a few bucks more if he's actually HONEST in his description. The only people looking for these autos are usually the people who know the most about them and are hard to deceive.

i saw the title and was hoping this was the super rare and little-known twin inline-6 front and rear-engined 6.9. but then i remembered that that car was painted the color of kryptonite and burned chicken-chit

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Response from capnmaff
Item: Mercedes-Benz : 6.9 (4574413010)
This message was sent while the listing was active.
capnmaff is the seller.

it had a 7.8 V12(i think) but it now has a 6.9 V8.

Wow, still lying when he admitted to carson356 that he was wrong.

Maybe he needs to tell them that the original spare tire is in there and the engine will go for 1 millon miles without an oil change to spark some interest.

Today's news was the eBay bought some internet phone company for $2.6 billion.

I wish they'd spend a little of the cash they had in cleaning up the site.
I see way too many eBay Motors "auctions" that seem really shady.
Then again, if the $$ has gone to their heads, not likely they're
worrying about a few shady deals.

I'm sure that eBay has people who are SUPPOSED to keep an eye on auctions.

They obviously don't do their job.

And I just wouldn't buy this car, period. The seller doesn't know **** about it. If I'm buying a car, sight unseen, I want someone knowledgeable about the car to give me a thorough description with well more than 3 crappy pics to support it. I'd buy it for $500, MAYBE $1000, but definetly not any more than that with those pics and that description.

And that's something every eBay seller should know BEFORE they post their auction.
