Vent window hinge pin on W108

Please educate me...
How in the h... do you get to the screws holding the vent window hinge pin to the door frame?? (1967 250S.)
I have a slight wind noise at the passenger side vent window. If you push on the glass you can see it moving in and out with the hinge pin. Looks like the hinge half that's screwed to the door frame is loose. I can see the tips of the sheet metal screws that appear to hold the hinge in place, but when I (carefully) peel back the "well seasoned" rubber on the opposite side, there's nothing there! Just flat sheet metal. Do you have to pull the whole door frame apart just to tighten the screws? (I'm thinking of drilling access holes!)

I dunno if this helps but on my '72 108 there is an adjustment to the vent tightness by pulling the top trim pad you can figure out the ball and nut adjustment to cinch the vent wing tighter.

To remove it, you undo lots of covering junk to find a bunch of screws in devilishly clever places. Along the way, you'll find that adjustment.

Replacement vents show up on ebay from time to time. Just about every used front door has one. And there are plenty of used doors out there. -CTH

Thanks for the input guys. This weekend I'll pull the trim pad off and see what I find.
