Ignition switch, W114

I'm stumped trying to pull the ignition switch out of a '71 250s parts car. Steering wheel, and most of the dash are out, so I have plenty of room to work. I've gotten one bolt, which seems to snug down a clamp on the steering lock, loose, and all I can do is wiggle the switch. Do I have to tear into the steering column just to get the switch off?

On W108's there is a plunger you have to push in to free the wheel lock from the steering column housing.
