Paul Henle at Mercedes Classics will send you a .jpg file of your data card, even without sending him a copy of your title. Of course, the key codes will not be there.

Anyway, the best way is to just call him, they are on PST I believe.

Great car. Congrats. Two more vintage Cali plates bite the dust.

Actually, I plan to leave the CA plates on it. I'll get NH plates but I'll only attach them to get it inspected and stick them on to drive the car. I'll put some magnets on them to hold them in place...once I park it anyplace the ugly NH plates will come off and those beautiful CA plates will be displayed.

New, better photos...

I've posted some better photos of the car on my bio page on my website, check it out:

http://www.minoxdoc.com/minoxdoc%20bio.htm

There are also photos of my 560SL there...soon I'll add the 280SEL to it as well.

OK, maybe they're not that ugly, but they are out of character for a 40 year old car. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. But I prefer the look of the old, simple plates before the pictures and slogans started appearing on them. The black and yellow ones that came on this car just look like they "fit" it...those green and white ones I'll need to put on will just not be right...IMHO.

I agree

I agree that the calf. plates look nice and some colors do clash. I wish we could choose collors I would like a nice burgandy plate instead of the green and white, I like the NH antique plates but I just got regular ones because I heared there are some restrictions on the antique plates.

Wow that's one clean Fin! It's so shiny, I thought it had the 300SE chrome strip on the side that runs the lenght of the car!

I miss my Fin, but there is one here on base where I'm stationed in Japan. The guy thought it was a 65 but by looking at it, you can see it is a mid 63 car. It has the engine room flap, side mirror on the fender, Solex carbs, but it has the firewall booster with dual circuit brakes. I've got to look up the number with MB.

The California license plates are original, the front one is stamped '63 and the back plate has 40+ years of renewal stickers on it from all the years it was renewed!

Now, I have a question. I can't tell from the ID plate when the car was made...is there a way to tell from the VIN the month and year of manufacture? I ask because I was "made" in 1963 too and since this car apparently was as well (despite it being a '64 MY) I was wondering if it and I could have been born at the same time? That would almost make it fate that I landed up with it. The VIN is 11101210134897, if anyone can decipher it.
The chassis number, not VIN, is written like this: 111012-10-134897

or like this: 111.012-10-134897

I checked out your web site and it looks to me like the A/C compressor was mounted on the 'wrong side'. The factory ones were mounted on the passenger side covering the thermostat. Who cares, it works, right.

Nice looking cars.

When I was in college, I had a Minox. I don't know what happened to it.

According to the production numbers on the Heckflosse.nl site, your car was the 12,295th car made in 1964.
