Looking pretty decent.

Gorgeous, and to be perfectly honest with you, I prefer the all-silver to the two-tone black that was on there. My best friend has a 2-tone 108 but his is navy on top but the black just looks a little goofy to me. The car really looks sharp though. Congratulations.

Thanks
David

Looks great! Quite an amazing transformation.

Did you get the 6.9 noises sorted out?

6.9 suspension

Thanks, I cant wait until I see it in the light. The 6.9 has been difficult to figure out. It is either the LSD or the Axles. Everyone I spoke to said that the LSD is pretty much indisctructable and we opened it up and there was no metal shavings. So we changed the oil and put everything back together. We took the axles off and inespected them and they looked ok too. So we put them back and still had the noise. I bought a set of Axles from Rusty but they turned out to be the wrong one. It turns out that the 6.9, 300SD and 380SEL use one type of Axle and the others use the W126 later model axles. So we either had to convert all the mountings or buy from the dealer at $950. Fortunatly this week I bought a set or brand new 6.9 axles for a lot less. It's just a matter of putting them on now.

With this, the new 6.9 and the 4.5 rebuild, I have a lot on my plate

Wow. what an incredible transformation. It's going to look like a new car when it's all back together again. Then you'll have to get various bits and pieces re-chromed.

Do you still have the steel wheels and covers? If so, I would go back to those. I personally think the 108 looks best as it was intended to with the painted wheel covers. Why do your bundts look so dark? Are they just dirty? Maybe that's it.

Thanks
David

Must feel like brand new vehicle to you after all that work. Looks great and glad it didn't get sent to the junkyard.

Wheels

The Alloys are very dirty, but I have about 12 of them so I really cannot justify getting a set of steels. I will clean them up and take some proper pictures soon. Next is the blue leather interior that came from a 300SEL.
