Question W108 '72 280SE 3.5 - 'Manual' (do they exist?)

Hello everyone, this is my first post so if I'm breaking etiquette please excuse me. As you can see I've fulfilled a long standing ambition and now own a W108 280SE being 33 years old of course it does have a couple of niggles but nothing serious. I'm handy enough with the spanners to tackle most things myself but have hit a bit of a wall when it comes to decent manuals. Let's forget Haynes for a second (questionable use anyway), does anybody know where I can get a specific technical/service manual for this car ? Bearing in mind that I am in Scotland, I have tried MB USA who will not ship internationally, I have also chanced my arm on eBay and acquired what I thought would at least do the engine/transmission but can't get it to work (CD) on my PC which runs XP. I have to admit I'm pretty stumped but you guys seem the obvious people to ask, someone somewhere must know where to get one if they exist. I'd be very grateful if any of you could give me a pointer.

Cheers

Jengasan

P.S. Niggles are vacuum related and rear end, nothing terminal.

this site should sell the CD set, as does caliber motors (a benz dealer in aneheim). Both are happy to ship overseas. Nowadays it retails for 30$US and covers eveything body, engine, electrical & A/C for the 108 family of cars.

the paperback manual appears on ebay often. Look for the "passenger cars stating 1968, models 108, 109, 111, 113". I've seen copies go for over 100$US. If you're patient and wait about a week, three other copies will apear and at least one can be had for about 50$US. This book covers the 3.5 nd 6.3 motors btw. It doesn't cover the A/C system. There is a separate 3.5/4.5 engine manual that covers the same ground but includes data about later models. This is most helpful when scrounging parts from a dead 350se.

PS if you find a seller unwilling to deal overseas, find another seller or get one of us to be an intermediary.
