I wonder if cold Russian Winters helped keep the leather intact. I like the interior pics.
We had Hitler's car in here awhile ago. Amazing specs like 120 gallon fuel tank, claimed 100+mph top speed, supercharged 16cyl engine, solid tires. Its now located at the Canadian War Museum. Interestingly the Museum was starving for funding support so they threatened to sell Hitlers car for $20 million. A public outrage ensued because nobody wanted it to fall into the wrong hands. So the Canadian government granted funds for the museum. Here's the thread: Hitlers Grosser 770 - F cabrio Limo Last edited by 300SDog; 03-13-2006 at 10:09 PM. |

i never heard of a 16 cyl pass car before. not saying it isnt just never heard of one before. i think more were straight eights. or large sixes. i think i may have heard of a v12 before. course hitler could have had whatever he wanted built.
pretty cool looking car. too bad it was hitler's. tom w

Tom - Cadillac and Marmon built 16 cyl production engines too - circa 1930's and '20s, also Bugatti.
Here's pic of the Caddy 16 cyl: |

oh yeah
well aware of those. i was referring to benz v16.
i used to be into caddies. took the newsletter for years. one of my favorite stories was of a full concours v16 caddy that was at a show. the judges come around and crawl under and over and check to see if everything works and is perfect. then you have to drive the car for them. this guy had a v16 and couldnt get one side of the v to work but it ran on the other 8. so he just held his breath and drove it for the judges on 8..... they never noticed and so he didnt get docked for it. those caddy v16s are really quiet and smooth. the caddies were super high quality up into the sixties but gradually lost it til now.... i do like that they are trying for a new high perf image though. tom w
