Hi,
I found this car at a garage here in Tucson, and the owner asked me to list it on eBay for him. This is a beauty, and I thought that you all would like to take a look at it! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=565856871 |

It's sure a beauty. If I hadn't bought another 6.9, I'd have considered it!

How much do you think it will go for? Eric |

Now that would take all of the fun out of the auction! I can tell you that the reserve is very reasonable and that the owner is not looking to make a ridiculous amount of money of of this car. He is simply to old to drive it anymore. I guess you'll have to keep tracking it on eBay to get your answer. Sorry. Thanks for your interest!

That is a nice car for sure!
Sooooo expensive to keep up though! Someday id like to own one or maybe a 4.5 is easier to own and work on. Good luck!! |

The 4.5 300SEL is a completely different animal to drive, and really not much less expensive to maintain. It's the 109-chassis that's difficult...at least until you get it sorted out.
Once you have it sorted out, it's probably good to go for 10 years. It does worry me that the suspension settles a little after a couple of days. It really shouldn't settle at all. |

The suspension will need some attention. The air bags were replaced about ten years ago, and it is time for new or rebuilt valves and gaskets. It is not so bad that it could not be driven for a while before it is taken care of. The suspension on these cars require maintenence, and this is something that needs to be added to the maintenence schedule. The car has been completely inspected, and the items needing attention are posted in the listing. It is certainly not being sold as a perfect or show car, and the reserve reflects this. So for a minimal amount of work, you could have a perfect 6.3!
