Glove box door removal

I have a 76 450 sel and am trying to remove the glove box door. Has anybody done this? There seem to be 2 press on washers. Do these have to be pryed out of there? Any help would be appreciated. Milt.

If its anything like the w123 then underneath the caps you will find screw nuts that hold the hinges in place. These nuts often loosen up and cause wiggly glove box doors. The catch plate is another item that often fails.

Well, have figured it out. The glove box door door (76 450 sel) has 2 little what looks like washers pressed on but are actually slotted nuts. By tapping gently they come loose. After that I saw what seemed to be a preferable method. The hinges are held to the dashboard by screws underneath. Remove the knee trim and you can see the situation. Milt.
