Help W116 280sel Fan Clutch

THE FAN CLUTCH ON MY M110 MOTOR IS SEIZED UP SOLID. I.E. THE FAN NOW TURN IN UNISON WITH THE ENGINE.

THE TEMPRETURE NOW NEVER GOES UP ABOVE 60 DEGREES CELSUIS.

IS THIS COLD RUNNING BAD FOR THE ENGINE? WHAT COULD HAVE CAUSED THE SEIZE UP AS FAR AS I KNOW THERE IS ONLY SILICONE OIL INSIDE?

WILL THIS CAUSE EXSSESIVE GAS CONSUMPTION

I had a clutch seize on my 280SEL, 108 chassis with a cast fan. The stress of running at 2X it's normal maximum RPM in combination with an unseen nick at the base of the blade, sent a fan blade through the radiator shroud that put a nice gash in the hood. Please refrain from taking your engine up to 6KRPM until you get this fixed, you may thank me later.
