It looks like it was lowered? Don't care for the wheels or the "V8" badge on the side. I've seen nicer ones - Like al's 6.9

it is a beauty.

i could do without the v8 sign too and less aggressive wheels would suit me as well, but a really nice paint job and overall a very handsome car.

probably pretty fast too.

for me they look fine, but i wouldnt want to be worried about hitting a chuckhole and getting a flat tire.

also i dont like the way cars steer with ultra low tires. they are a bit squirrelly. imho

I dont like the way they ride or wear (rough and fast, respectively). They also seem to get crappy rain traction (Or at least all 3 sets thus far on the 300m have - 3 sets to go 35k miles, ready for the 4th soon).

Snibble: It may be a 6.9, but 99% of drivers dont know what that means. Most would assume the badge on the back is a lie if they understood it meant engine displacement. Seeing aggressive wheels on it might tip them off a bit more. I personally would prefer a car that looks docile but is anything but. Kinda like Quicksilver

I agree with Tomguy!

Mine is prettier

Only jesting, but I can honestly say that my makeover did not consist of a V8 badge and a set of alloys.

I plan on installing a set of 16 inch AMG Penta alloy wheels that I purchased a few months ago. I just need to get the lug nuts for them. It would be a nice change over the 14 inch Continental tires that I'm running now. They are rubbish!

For now, it still looks pretty nice (see below). I have decided that I am going to get back into the the 78 Euro 6.9 and try to restore it. I have already purchased a set of Euro bumpers and pulled a full exhaust system from a RHD Euro 450SEL at the local bone yard.

I love driving this 6.9, but with the A/C not working in the summer, it's like wearing a big silver fat suit. You just get in it and sweat.

Wheels

The wheels are the standard 14inch bundts. you can see it more clearly here. The Penta's have yet to have wheels installed. The Rover project is sucking up every little spare penny that I have. I have had to order a crap load of parts from England with massive freight charges.

Guess I should have read the post more closely, but even a 450SEL in RHD would be a neat novelty. By the way, I refer to alabbasi's 6.9 resto pic's for inspiration when my 116's are confounding me...if he can do it, dammit, so can I.

Here here!

If I can do it, anyone really can! I'm not mechanically inclined or have a bunch of cash lying around (else I would have bought a restored one). I just did a lot of research and a lot of searching until I found the right guys and the right parts.

I plan on bringing my RHD W114 250CE to the UK in the near future.

When Ali finds time to drive his cars ,when he's not mucking about with Rusty Rovers I'll never know....
What you guys are missing is the fact that that car is in ROMANIA!!!!
one of the poorest countries in Europe, besides Albania.Where does he get the money for that ,but even more interesting is the fact that he's done it in Romania and and done such a nice Job.
Was the car a Former Soviet party car for instance, because to buy any 6.9 in Germany etc requires BULK CASH.
Just something to conisder. Cheers!
