I saw one yesterday and the locks were either manual or not working properly. The owner knew nothing about vacuum locks...I assumed that by '72 all the models had them since my '72 280SEL does and our '74 240D did...does anyone know if a '72 220D (W115) should be equipped with vacuum locks or not?

well, yeah. but my 74 240 did have them i believe.

of course the 220 also had no air or power steering.

the steering was so fine on the road. but a bit of a chore to park.

Actually this one did have power steering...no AC though, manual sunroof and I believe manual windows. It was a nice one in Medium Red...one of my favorite colors. I almost considered buying it but 5 is enough at this point. I told him if he gets to wanting $2500 for it to call me

That's what my wife said! Six and I WOULD be single!

Seriously...she doesn't care because I don't keep them around the house and she doesn't know how much I spend storing them all...
