The MB parts/restoration biz sure has changed in the last twenty years. When I try to order parts for my ponton 220SE, most people insist it's a W111 220SE, even after giving the W128 chassis number. I even had my local dealer insist the car didn't exist, when it was parked ten feet outside the door to the parts department.

I think they're hoping it's a w111, so they don't have to send you packin'.

switch 'em out?
I know the w110 from nothing, but why not switch the brakes out to a disk? If you're not a stickler, you might end up with easier upkeep and better performance. I know my mechanic did this with some 60's model, but i don't know which one.

Thanks!
Thanks for the help, guys! I posted the other day, but it didn't seem to work. I thought of switching up to disks in the back, but I don't know exactly whats involved. I'm still learning the vintage Mercedes scene. if it were a Volvo, I'd know everything about it inside out. I'm still waiting for the shoes to come back, too. Should be tomorrow. When they come I'll post pics, and hopefully the price will be right!
